Reports surfaced that the International Football Association Board (IFAB) were going to trial plans where players would spend 10 minutes off the pitch after receiving a blue card for dissent and tactical fouls. IFAB quickly postponed this following criticism from FIFA and Spurs boss Postecoglou has also had his say on the matter.

He told reporters: "One team being down to 10 men for 10 minutes, you know what it’s going to do to our game? It’s going to destroy it, mate. Postecoglou is not the only manager to be against these plans, with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp saying it "didn't sound like a fantastic idea", and Newcastle manager Eddie Howe added he was "not a big fan". If ushered in, this would be a huge change in the game, right up there with when yellow and red cards were introduced at the 1970 World Cup in Mexico.
